Colliers International to Host Global Retail Runway at ICSC Annual Conference
--Jim McMasters to Emcee Dynamic Program Showcasing National, International Retailers--
SEATTLE, May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Colliers International announced today that senior retail specialist Jim McMasters has been selected by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) to serve as master of ceremonies for the Global Retail Runway at RECon, the organization's upcoming convention in Las Vegas, May 21-25. RECon annually draws more than 35,000 retail professionals from around the world, and serves as a critical source of deal making and networking activity for the entire industry.
A 90-minute program including up to 25 of the world's premier retailers, the Global Retail Runway provides attendees—consisting of retailer professionals as well as retail real estate owners, operators and investors—the opportunity to learn about innovative and successful endeavors from a cross-section of national and international brands.
Retailer participants—who will each deliver 3-4 minute presentations—will unveil new products and services, best practices and target markets during the session. To ensure a best-in-class event, ICSC includes only presenters with a minimum of 100 retail locations as well as those who are expanding and can showcase innovative merchandise, services, or operating and marketing techniques.
Building on the success of similar programs hosted by McMasters on the West Coast, the Global Retail Runway is sure to leave participants in awe of the spectacle. "Retail is fun, and the Global Retail Runway will reflect that," said McMasters, senior vice president in the Walnut Creek, Calif. office of Colliers International. "The program will be filled with enthusiasm, innovation and a sense of theater. Attendees will come away armed with great information and new contacts to help propel them forward."
Confirmed participants at the ICSC-sponsored event include: 24 Hour Fitness; AutoZone; Burlington Coat Factory; Hooters; Chipotle Mexican Grill; Darden Restaurants; Energy Kitchen; The Fresh Market; Great Clips; Hobby Lobby; Joe's Crab Shack; LA Fitness; PETCO; PetSmart, Staples; Walgreens and Yogurtland.
"Retail is showing healthy signs of improvement, but we are always looking for new ways to be successful," said Mark Keschl, national director of retail for Colliers International. "The Global Retail Runway is the ideal forum for the most innovative retailers."
