CHICAGO, March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Collegis Education today announced the appointment of Colleen O'Keefe as its new chief operating officer. O'Keefe is an accomplished technology executive with a unique blend of global operating and information technology (IT) service experiences, as well as product development and customer care expertise. For the past six months, she's served as interim chief information officer for Collegis Education and has led the company's IT department. In her new role as COO, O'Keefe will be responsible for all operational aspects of Collegis, including IT, digital content and curriculum development and analytics. In addition, she will provide guidance around the company's sales and marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining Collegis Education, O'Keefe served as Senior Vice President and General Manager – Collaborations Solutions and Global Services at Novell. In that role, she led a team of more than one thousand and ran the company's largest revenue and margin producing business unit. Her responsibilities included overall strategy, product development and management, consulting services and technical support and training. O'Keefe also worked at premier companies such as NCR Corporation where she served as Vice President and General Manager Payment Solutions, Global Crossing and AT&T.
Currently, O'Keefe serves on the Board of Directors for Story and Structure, a software design and consulting firm focused on higher education. She has also been an active member of the Rasmussen College Strategy Board since 2009 where she has made significant contributions to the College's Schools of Business and Technology. O'Keefe also serves on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
O'Keefe completed the Stanford Executive Education Program in 2004. She earned an MBA from the University of Hartford and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
