EUGENE, Ore., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published its 2016 ranking for the Best Colleges in California http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/best-colleges-in-california/
California is one of the most popular destinations for students when they are deciding on a college to attend. The state, which covers more than 50 percent of the West Coast, is home to many of the country's best colleges and universities, most of which are included on this list.
"California colleges and universities are known for being diverse and attractive places of multi-cultural engagement. In fact, of colleges and universities in the western part of the United States, California schools boast some of the most ethnically diverse campuses, where multiracial, black or African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, non-Hispanic, and Indigenous students come together in significant ways to pursue degrees," Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. "On top of that, California is one of the largest states in the country, providing students with a variety of different landscapes and extracurricular activities to take part in when not studying for their degrees."
College Choice curated its 2016 ranking for the Best Colleges in California using a number of factors that were culled from individual schools' websites as well as renown statistics and ranking sites, including The National Center for Education Statistics. Factors used to create the ranking include the school's academic reputation, student retention and graduation rate, diversity of programs and student organizations, and more.
