College Choice Releases 2017 Ranking of the 19 Best Colleges in Colorado

Colorado high school students are part of a huge, state-wide upward swing in academic success and college enrollment. But it's not just that numbers are growing; college students are increasingly diverse, as every ethnic group has seen higher enrollment numbers in the last few years, and they are increasingly successful—the mean grade point average of first-year college students is climbing as well.

College Choice developed its list by looking at institutional excellence along with return on investment—the differential between tuition costs and average early career earnings. Data on the rankings came from the university and colleges' websites, PayScale, the Colorado Department of Higher Education, U.S. News & World Report, and The National Center for Education Statistics.

The ranking for the 19 Best Colleges in Colorado finds Colorado School of Mines in the top spot. Colorado College is in second, and University of Denver rounds out the top three.
