College Choice Releases 2016 Ranking of the 50 Best Master's in Social Work Degree Programs
EUGENE, Ore., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice (http://www.collegechoice.net/), a leading college search and rankings website, has published a ranking of the top fifty master's degrees in social work degree programs in the United States (http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/best-msw-programs-2016/).
Fordham University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Denver, University of Southern California, and Boston College occupy the top five spots on the list, which is based on factors such as cost of attendance, each program's reputation in its field, and return on investment. Other schools on the list include the University of Chicago, Florida State University, University of Pennsylvania, Michigan State University, and Indiana University.
Robert Hand, lead editor for the ranking, explains College Choice's ranking further: "The Master of Social Work degree is a specialized, professional degree beyond the Bachelor of Social Work, which we have also profiled in a separate ranking. The MSW focuses on the particular aspects of professional practice in social work whereas the bachelor's degree focuses on general practices in the field. The MSW typically requires two years of full-time graduate study in addition to an internship."
"Earning a MSW is crucial for the advancement of one's career in the field of social work," adds Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice. "We have compiled our ranking of the very best MSW programs with special attention given to student satisfaction and return on investment so that today's student can make the best and most informed choice."
