College Choice Publishes Ranking of The 50 Best Master's in Education Degrees For 2017
EUGENE, Ore., Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published a ranking of the 50 Best Master's in Education Degrees for 2017: http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/masters-in-education-degrees/.
At a time when shortages of qualified teachers are looming in many states and school districts, future educators have the potential to advance quickly in their field, especially if they have completed a graduate-level education. A master's degree can take an educator in a number of different directions: deepening a teaching skill set, preparation for work as a principal or other administrator, or curricular or technological support for schools and educators.
"And getting a master's in education might not be a bad financial move," Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. "Due to the potential teacher shortage crisis, many states' departments of education are working to increase the number of quality instructors in the classroom through policy changes, scholarships, grants, and loan forgiveness incentives."
College Choice developed its list by looking at academic quality—assessed by student test scores, institutional reputation, and admittance rate—along with return on investment—the differential between tuition costs and average early career earnings.
The ranking for the 50 Best Master's in Education Degrees for 2017 finds Stanford University in the top spot. Johns Hopkins University is in second, and Harvard University rounds out the top three.
