College Choice Publishes First Annual Ranking of U.S. Women's Colleges for 2015
RALEIGH, N.C., April 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice (www.collegechoice.net), a leading college search resource, has published its first annual ranking of the best U.S. women's colleges. The ranking can be viewed at http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/best-womens-colleges/.
All accredited women's colleges in the United States were considered for the ranking, which is unique in being based exclusively on the factors actual college students said were most important to their college decision. According to the largest annual poll of entering college freshman put out by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, the top four factors in deciding which college to attend were academic reputation, financial aid offering, overall cost, and graduate's success in the post-job market. These factors were weighted equally in College Choice's ranking of women's colleges and derived from a variety of publicly available sources, including U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale.com.
Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA earned top honors in the ranking, followed by Smith College in Northampton, MA and Barnard College in New York, NY.
