BRADENTON, Fla., May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Prospective students and parents are invited to learn more about State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) programs and services at Admissions Express events in Bradenton and Venice. The workshops will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, June 3, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, Building 800 and Tuesday, June 4, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., in the Library & Learning Center.
Staff from SCF's student services will answer questions about career choices, class registration and provide step-by-step assistance to complete an application. Advisors also will be on hand to answer questions and SCF students will offer campus tours and insight into student life.
Students and parents can explore the financial assistance options available including scholarships, payment plans, financial aid or grants and student loans. Last year, more than $1.6 million in scholarships was awarded to SCF students. SCF's tuition is half that of a university with students obtaining an Associates in Arts degree with little-to-no debt.
Applicants can get a head start by applying online at SCF.edu/Admissions and complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at StudentAid.ed.gov indicating SCF's school code 001504.
SCF offers associates degrees for students who intend to transfer to university programs, start a professional career or continue at SCF in baccalaureate programs, which are designed with the area's workforce demands in mind. SCF also offers 36 certificates and an array of signature programs such as accelerated dual enrollment, SCF Honors and Gator Engineering.
