College applications for 117 N.C. schools on CFNC.org save students time, plus help keep track of deadlines

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Students applying to enter college in the Fall of 2013 can apply online to any of 117 North Carolina four-year or two-year public and private colleges, including community colleges by using the College Foundation of North Carolina website (CFNC.org). 

Both first-year and transfer students can apply for undergraduate programs through CFNC.org.  Basic information students have entered in their CFNC user account will automatically fill sections of each application they file through CFNC.  All they have to do is enter any additional information required by each school. 

Once an application is started, the student can stop to work on other things, and then continue at a later time without losing data already entered.  For students attending North Carolina public schools, while completing applications on CFNC, they can even request their high school transcript be sent electronically to the colleges to make the entire process go more efficiently and smoothly.

Keryn Vickers is assistant director of admissions at UNC-Wilmington, which is just one of the 117 NC colleges that accept online applications and high school transcripts through CFNC.org.  He said, "UNC-Wilmington is pleased to accept online applications through CFNC and we have enjoyed our partnership for several years."

To apply online, simply use the "Apply to College" tab on CFNC.org.  A practice application is also available to gain experience before actually submitting an actual application.
