Collective agreement reached between Cascade Aerospace Inc. and Unifor Local 114
Minister Leitch congratulates parties on reaching an agreement to end the work stoppage
OTTAWA, Aug. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, today congratulated Unifor Local 114 and Cascade Aerospace Inc. on successfully reaching a new collective agreement.
This agreement covers approximately 450 employees working at the Abbotsford, British Columbia plant, whose previous collective agreement expired on March 30, 2014. The employees had been on strike since June 4, 2014.
The parties reached the agreement with the assistance of the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the Canada Labour Code.
