GLASGOW, Scotland, Nov. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- collectionHQ, the world's leading collection performance improvement solution, welcomes two major new customers, the Alaska Library Catalog and Cuyahoga County Public Library in Ohio, adding to its growing roster of clients worldwide.
The Alaska Library Catalog is a consortium of 87 public, academic, special, and K-12 libraries. With a shared catalog of 3.2 million titles, the consortium serves 92 percent of Alaska's population. While some of the individual libraries were familiar with and used Baker & Taylor as their vendor, none of the libraries had been using collectionHQ. However, interest in collectionHQ was spreading among the library directors, who had heard about the powerful tool.
Highlights especially appreciated by the Alaska Library Catalog Managing Director, Michael Stallings, included: collectionHQ's impressive flexibility, the functionality offered in the Selection tools, the weeding and hold analysis functionality, and the insight into the collections highlighted by the dashboards. All 21 public libraries in the consortium will have access to collectionHQ.
Stallings commented: "We joined the collectionHQ family with the goal of improving the collection performance of individual member libraries, but we also anticipate it will pave the way for collaborative collection development across the consortium."
Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) is a longstanding Baker & Taylor client that has 27 branches that serve 47 communities in Northeast Ohio. The system, which leads the nation in per capita circulation for a library of its size has signed a new collectionHQ subscription scheduled to start next year.
"Our catalog is rich with good data but lacks the analytic tools to really harness it," says Lori Thorrat, Catalog and Processing Manager at Cuyahoga County Public Library, "collectionHQ fills this gap with a user-friendly interface that will streamline collection management at CCPL."
