SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CollabNet (www.collabnet.com), a global leader in enterprise software development and delivery solutions that help customers create high-quality applications at speed, today reports that 75 percent of the #YesWeCode Coding Corps graduates have been placed in full-time computer-engineering roles or apprenticeships in the San Francisco Bay Area. A video featuring these graduates and their experiences has just been released. CollabNet partnered with #YesWeCode to deliver specialized ScrumMaster training and certification to the program members.
This program's results are important because they demonstrate how individuals, communities and companies benefit from well-executed initiatives such as #YesWeCode. This Dream Corps initiative aims at helping 100,000 men and women from diverse backgrounds succeed in the tech sector.
CollabNet is among a group of companies, including some of the Bay Area's largest brands, that support the #YesWeCode Coding Corps through training, technical interview preparation and job placement. Supporting companies host events such as #YesWeCode Labs, an opportunity for Coding Corps members to receive tutoring and mentorship from professional engineers. Companies also provide mock technical interviews, resume refinement and LinkedIn profile-development workshops.
CollabNet's partnership with #YesWeCode continues to make progress. New programs are anticipated that focus on software development, as well as career-building workshops to help members prepare for technical interviews and assist them with job placement.
"I've had the honor of connecting the Coding Corps members with apprenticeships and jobs at local companies here in the Bay Area that are committed to investing in a diverse talent pipeline and innovating their hiring and retention strategies simultaneously," said Johnnie Williams, Apprenticeship Director at #YesWeCode. "We appreciate our team partners such as CollabNet and many other companies that are partnering with #YesWeCode to support Coding Corps members through training and mentorship experiences. These ultimately empower members to succeed in an evolving tech landscape. I look forward to continuing the mutually beneficial partnerships."
"We're proud of these new Scrum experts and impressed with their dedication and hard work," said Flint Brenton, CEO of CollabNet. "CollabNet is honored to support #YesWeCode, and we're pleased to share this example of good results that occurs when technology companies partner closely with organizations such as #YesWeCode to cultivate the talent in our communities."
CollabNet is known for Agile expertise and is one of the world's largest Scrum trainers, certifying thousands of ScrumMasters worldwide and helping organizations improve the creation and delivery of high-quality applications. CollabNet sponsored Agile and Scrum training for the #YesWeCode Coding Corps, resulting in all members becoming certified ScrumMasters. ScrumMaster training helped Coding Corps members integrate onto respective engineering teams. #YesWeCode looks to continue the partnership to allow Coding Corps members access to more innovative CollabNet development tools.
