MILPITAS, Calif., June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 19th, 2015, TIEC, Taiwan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, hosted an opening ceremony to bring the most innovative startups from Taiwan and partner them with Silicon Valley accelerators and venture capital companies. Including COINX, Founders Space, Plug and Play, WI Harper, SVT Angels, and H&Q Asia Pacific. These selected accelerators and venture capital firms signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TIEC during the ceremony.
Chairman of ITRI, Dr. Ching-Yen Tsay, Taiwan Minister of Science and Technology, Minister Shyu Jyuo-min and Taiwan Minister of Executive Yuan, Dr. Yan Hong-Sen attended this ceremony. Throughout the ceremony, CEO of TIEC, Dr. Larry Wang states, "This is a new era for linking innovative startups between Taiwan and Silicon Valley."
Speaking at the ceremony Dr. Eric Huang, CEO of COINX, stated that, "COINX is an accelerator that supports late startups and growth companies' in exit and expansion strategies." With help from friends in the Ministry of Science and Technology, ITRI, and partnership with the TIEC, COINX pushes forward to stir innovation at the heart of Silicon Valley.
The Taiwanese government hopes to make Taiwan a large player in the market for innovative industries. The TIEC will help Taiwan do just that by supporting startups with great potential through management, manufacturing, and financial assistance. These startups will also receive the guidance of consultant and mentoring services throughout the Silicon Valley with the help from the new center and companies like COINX.
