PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Business law firm Cohen & Grigsby is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Maher as a director in the firm's Pittsburgh office.

Maher advises clients on a variety of public and private finance and economic development matters and has acted as bond counsel and special counsel for school districts, municipalities, municipal authorities, universities, healthcare systems and other major governmental entities. He has overseen the structuring and closing of a variety of taxable and tax-exempt municipal securities, including tax increment financings, and has advised clients on proper structuring and documentation as well as compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

Maher earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Georgetown University. Prior to joining Cohen & Grigsby, Maher was an attorney at Dilworth Paxson LLP.
