DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. & ORMOND BEACH, Fla., Feb. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Emergency Communications Network (ECN), North America's largest provider of critical and mass notification systems, is proud to announce its signature solutions CodeRED and SmartNotice will be used to help keep businesses, residents, and visitors safe leading up to and throughout Daytona Bike Week festivities from March 4 -13, 2016. Touted by many as the "World's Largest Motorcycle Event," this year marks the 75th anniversary and is expected to draw approximately half a million visitors to the region.
Partnering with local law enforcement and first responders, CodeRED client communities will leverage the system's fast and reliable communication capabilities to inform area residents of traffic updates, weather warnings, emergency situations, and other important time-sensitive information throughout the duration of the event.
"Providing our residents and visitors with the most up-to-date information as it happens is essential to keeping them safe. In previous years, it has been estimated that our area has had approximately 500,000 visitors. Over the next several weeks, our city will see a huge increase of individuals participating in the 75th annual Bike Week festivities, and their safety is our primary concern," said Ormond Beach Mayor Ed Kelley. "Our CodeRED service provides us connectivity in real-time, allowing us to communicate more efficiently when the need arises."
Residents and visitors to the area are encouraged to download the free CodeRED Mobile Alert app from the Google Play or App Store to receive alerts initiated by local public safety officials who use the CodeRED community notification system. "Today more than ever, as hundreds of thousands of riders will be on the road participating in the week's events, safety remains critical," said Troy Harper, CodeRED Product Manager. "Our mission is to connect people with the time-sensitive information they need to remain informed and safe. This is the reason why public safety officials across the region and throughout the state of Florida have chosen to partner with CodeRED over other services to deliver their critical communications."
