COD Only Illinois Community College District to Grow FTES Enrollment Over Past Five Years
GLEN ELLYN, Ill., Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Of the 39 community college districts in Illinois, College of DuPage is the only college district to grow Full Time Equivalent Student enrollment over the past five years. Between fall 2010 and fall 2014, COD grew FTES enrollment by 956 or six percent. During that same period the state's 39 community college districts were down a total of 13.1 percent, according to a report released by the Illinois Community College Board.

Between fall 2010 and fall 2014 (five-year change), College of DuPage was one of only three community college districts that grew credit headcount enrollment. From fall 2010 to fall 2014, College of DuPage grew by 2,754 credit heads or 10.3 percent. The other two community colleges that saw an increase were 480 credit heads or 4.6 percent, and 100 credit heads or 0.6 percent. During the same period the state (aggregate of all 39 community college districts) was down in headcount by 11.1 percent.
Between fall 2013 and fall 2014 (one-year change), no other Illinois community college district added more headcount than College of DuPage. From fall 2013 to fall 2014, College of DuPage increased by 849 credit heads or 3 percent. During the same period, the state (aggregate of all 39 community college districts) was down in credit headcount by 4 percent.
With a FTES enrollment of 16,858, COD is now the only single Illinois community college with a fall FTES enrollment over 10,000. COD's fall 2014 credit headcount is 29,476. The next closest Illinois community college has a credit headcount of 15,776. By comparison, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has an undergraduate credit headcount of approximately 33,000.
