COCO Coworking Expands to the Windy City
Acquisition of Enerspace Chicago Unites Shared Visions and Brings Expanded Opportunities and Resources
MINNEAPOLIS, May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COCO, the upper Midwest's leading provider of coworking and collaborative workspaces, is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Enerspace Chicago, a popular coworking space in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. Enerspace Chicago, founded by Jamie Russo in 2012, will be operated by COCO effective May 2, 2016 and becomes COCO's fifth location.
"As long time allies, we are extremely pleased to be bringing Enerspace Chicago into the COCO family," said Kyle Coolbroth, CEO and Co-founder. "There is a great deal of synergy between our business practices, philosophies and member communities, and we have great respect for what Jamie has built. We see Chicago as a vital hub of entrepreneurship, and this acquisition allows us to create greater opportunities for the small business and entrepreneurial communities in these cities."
As part of the COCO community, Enerspace joins four COCO locations in Minnesota. COCO Twin Cities members can visit, work, and share resources at the Chicago location. In turn, Chicago's members will be able to tap into a larger membership base and the additional resources of approximately 1,000 Twin Cities based members across four locations.
As part of the acquisition, Enerspace Chicago Founder Jamie Russo will join the team in an advisory role. Her deep focus on workplace wellness and balance, matched with her strong entrepreneurial spirit, brings a valuable addition to the COCO community.
"I am excited about this tremendous opportunity to provide Enerspace Chicago members with access to COCO's great community, spaces and offerings," said Jamie Russo, Executive Director of the Global Workspace Association and founder of Enerspace. "Our shared vision around collaboration, engaged communities and motivating environments made this a great fit for us and I look forward to bringing the COCO brand on board."
