BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cobb Theatres will screen The Metropolitan Opera's Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series The Met: Live in HD featuring 11 live transmissions from Lincoln Center. The Met: Live in HD will screen at select times from October 2011 through April 2012.

The 2011-2012 Season will include 6 new productions and the world premiere of The Enchanted Island, a dazzling Baroque opera that debuts January 21, 2012 at 12:55 ET. New productions include: Donizetti's Anna Bolena (October 15, 2011, 12:55 pm ET); Mozart's Don Giovanni (October 29, 2011, 12:55 pm ET); Wagner's Siegfried (November 5, 2011, 12 pm ET) and Gotterdammerung (February 11, 2012, 12 pm ET); and Massenet's Manon (April 7, 2012, 12 pm ET).
The other operas in the series are: Glass's Satyagraha (November 19, 2011, 12:55 pm ET); Handel's Rodelinda (December 3, 2011, 12:30 pm ET); Verdi's Ernani (February 25, 2012, 12:55 pm ET) and La Traviata (April 14, 2012, 12:55 pm ET).
Participating Cobb Theatres include: Miami Lakes 17, Downtown Gardens 16, Pinnacle 14, Grand 10, Jupiter 18, Cobb Village 12; Merritt Square 16 & IMAX; Lakeside 18 & IMAX; Hollywood 16 & IMAX, Dolphin 19 & IMAX, Grove 16 and CineBistro; CineBistro at Stony Point Fashion Park, CineBistro at Dolphin Mall, CineBistro at Solaris, and CineBistro at Hyde Park Village.
Only the Pinnacle 14 location in Gulf Shores, Ala. will be screening the MET Encore series.
