Coalition Launches Michigan Avenue Penthouse for Coworking
New coworking community gives Chicago small businesses workspace with a view
CHICAGO, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Searching for the right coworking space for an energetic small business can be a daunting task, but landing the perfect one pays off in many ways. The right space can fuel productivity, build culture, and lead to highly valuable relationships. Responding to the rise of Chicago as a powerhouse of tech and small businesses, Coalition is launching a coworking community this fall, located in a skylight-filled penthouse on Michigan Avenue between Madison and Monroe Streets. The new location takes the entire top floor of the Gage Building, with spectacular views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. Currently under construction, Coalition will feature coworking desks, private offices, and a robust business network.
Building on Chicago's storied history of rethinking possibilities, Coalition retains much of the charm of the hat factory that formerly inhabited the twelfth floor in the historic building at 18 South Michigan. Most of the workspace features an open floor plan, and is built to host events, with sleek glass partitions that allow for more intimate gatherings. "We wanted to build a space where members from diverse industries could be proud to grow their businesses and meet with clients," says co-founder, David Rotbard.
With a launch set for mid-September, Coalition has already signed one important member, Energy Foundry, an energy and grid impact venture fund that has worked with Coalition to allocate a portion of the space to energy-tech companies. "The energy-tech startup scene in Chicago is still in its infancy, but growing quickly," said Jason Blumberg, CEO of Energy Foundry. "We see collaborating with Coalition as an important step in creating a physical hub in the Loop for the energy-tech community to call its own."
Ever looking to expand, Coalition is considering the purchase of more space on Michigan Avenue, and is actively looking to secure other spaces in Chicago. Those who wish to join the Coalition should visit www.CoalitionSpace.com.
