Coalition Coworking Launches Downtown Startup Community
Entrepreneurs find Executive Workspace Within Reach
BOSTON, March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With the goal of creating a space for innovators to build their ideas, Coalition has launched the first coworking space of its kind in the heart of downtown. The collaborative hub caters specifically to startup companies from numerous industries that share the same passion to build their ideas into successful companies.
"Boston has historically been a place to test bold ideas," said co-founder Farhan Abbasi, "so we built Coalition to be a space where innovators can launch their own." Drawing on ten years of coworking experience in cities like New York and Chicago, Coalition's private offices and open-plan workspaces are designed to help entrepreneurs collaborate. Nearly every room offers floor-to-ceiling windows, sweeping views, and natural sunlight.
Coalition is on the nineteenth floor of 101 Arch Street, with direct underground access to Downtown Crossing and South Station. Strategically located between Kendall Square and the Seaport District, Coalition is surrounded by restaurants, theaters and other Boston attractions. "We are proud to be a pioneer of the coworking movement in Downtown. We want to be part of the local ecosystem by making it easier for entrepreneurs to find the right workspace in a location they could be proud of," says Wellie Chao, co-founder.
Calling it a "one of a kind space," Rosemarie Sansone, President of the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District said, "Coalition brings yet another dimension to Downtown's ongoing emergence as a 'tech mecca.' By making it easier for small businesses to grow, they address a critical need within downtown's start-up community."
Coalition has also partnered with local organizations, collaborating with the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge to help student entrepreneurs work side-by-side with other local professionals. "We are thrilled to welcome Coalition as our newest corporate member. Working together, I am confident that students in the greater Boston area will benefit greatly from the work generated through this partnership," said Lesa Lessard Pearson, executive director, MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge.
