CO2 Solutions CTO Presents LCA Results at CCUS Conference
TSX-V: CST
Comparing life cycle assessments of CO2 Solutions enzymatic technology with amine and UNO MK3 capture technologies
QUEBEC CITY, March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - CO2 Solutions Inc. (TSXV: CST), the leader in the field of enzyme-enabled carbon capture technology, announced that its CTO, Richard Surprenant, today will be presenting the results of a life cycle assessment (LCA) of the Corporation's technology at the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Conference in Nashville, TN.
Mr. Surprenant will present the findings of an LCA study, prepared in collaboration with a third party, of existing carbon capture technologies such as the Corporation's enzyme-enabled carbon capture technology, an amine-based capture technology and the UNO MK3 capture. The results of this study demonstrate by a wide margin the smaller environmental footprint of the enzymatic technology.
"We are proud to present the results of the LCA study on our technology at the CCUS Conference," said Evan Price, President and Chief Executive Officer of CO2 Solutions. "Our enzymatic process stands out among other CO2 capture technologies not only because it is low-cost and demonstrated at large scale, but also because of its small environmental footprint. We invite other companies endeavouring in the carbon capture and utilization industry to publicly present and publish the life cycle assessments of their technologies."
Mr. Surprenant's presentation at the CCUS conference is posted on CO2 Solutions' website and the LCA study prepared will be posted at a later date once its format is completed. Further information on the event can be found at http://www.ccusconference.com.
