Sponsored by Nationwide Insurance, the National Town Hall Meeting will convene from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on September 23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center Concourse as part of the 32nd Annual NBMBAA Conference. With the required registration here, the Town Hall is free and open to the public.
Glinda Bridgforth, nationally-renowned speaker, author and consultant; Janice Bryant Howroyd, entrepreneur, founder and CEO, Act 1 Group; Gale King, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, Nationwide Insurance; and Dr. Randal Pinkett, co-founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, speaker and author, are featured panelists. They will discuss how they reinvent themselves and evolve their careers to stay relevant in an ever-changing world economy.
"In order to maintain your competitive advantage, stay ahead of the game, and continue progressing toward personal and professional goals, you must be able to adapt in the blink of an eye," says NBMBAA Chairman William Wells Jr. "It is this ever-changing environment that has inspired the theme of our conference."
Designed around the association's core channels – education, career, leadership, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle -- seasoned professionals, students and industry experts will converge to discuss education and professional development. More than 400 corporations will arrive with the goal of hiring 2,000 professionals to fill available positions across the country.
"Our partnership with the National Black MBA Association helps support career and leadership development in a way that remains relevant throughout the year," said Jim Lyski, chief marketing officer, Nationwide Insurance. "We are proud of our active presence at the conference, and our sponsorship of the town hall meeting. It excites us to have such an esteemed panel share their experiences and expertise to help others enhance their ability to market themselves in today's workforce."
While strategies on how to get a strong start are everywhere in the industry, tangible steps on how to prepare for and stay on top of your game is the focus of "Secrets to Success: The Sequel."
Participants should be prepared to listen, learn, and actively engage in the conversation. Through high-tech innovation, attendees can submit questions via hand-held audience response devices, using the sms feature on their phones, @poll on Twitter, and their computer Web applications for the expert panel to answer on the spot.
