CNA And NRCA Recognize Delta Exteriors With CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Grand Prize Award
SAINT LOUIS, Feb. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) today announced Delta Exteriors as this year's grand prize winner of the CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award. The Community Involvement Award honors outstanding charitable works performed by NRCA contractor members in the communities where they live and work. Delta Exteriors selected its non-profit partner, Stray Rescue of Saint Louis, to receive a $5,000 gift from CNA to support emergency medical care for the animal patients in Stray Rescue's care.
"Community involvement and volunteerism are essential to being a good corporate citizen," said John Tatum, senior vice president, Construction and Large Casualty for CNA. "We feel an obligation to make the communities we work and live in better, and we try to make giving back an integral part of all our relationships."
Delta Exteriors was among the many outstanding NRCA companies nominated for their work with non-profits in the community. Delta Exteriors rose to the top of the outstanding nominees for the time and money they donate to Stray Rescue of Saint Louis, and for the close tie between their business strategy and community work. "We support Stray Rescue of Saint Louis in a number of ways, including a pledge that for every roof we complete, we pay for the adoption fee of a stray dog so they can have a roof over their head too," said Rob Orb, owner, Delta Exteriors.
"We're going after the problem in every aspect I can think of to make sure we leave no dog behind, rescuing animals off the mean streets of St. Louis," said Randy Grim, founder of Stray Rescue. "We also have a great relationship with the city's Animal Care and Control and frequently transfer animals from ACC to find them loving homes. Every animal that comes through the doors of Stray Rescue is in need of medical attention, whether from heartworm, malnutrition or from severe abuse or neglect. So, as you can imagine, our veterinary expenses are quite high. The need is great, and the support from Delta, CNA and NRCA is critical to our work."
Two honorable mentions were also awarded to Cole Roofing for its work with the Carson Scholars Fund, Inc. and Four Seasons Roofing, Inc. for its work with Nourish the Children, an initiative of NuSkin Enterprise. Each honorable mention received a $1,000 grant.
"This award is a way for us to celebrate and tell the stories of really good people, working in really good companies, making meaningful contributions to their communities every day," said William Good, executive vice president, NRCA.
The awards were presented Feb. 25, 2015 during the Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception at NRCA's 128th Annual Convention in New Orleans.
CNA has been the endorsed carrier of NRCA for 45 years.
