CMS Energy Shareholders Elect 10 Members to Company's Board of Directors
JACKSON, Mich., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Shareholders re-elected nine incumbents and added a new member to the CMS Energy Board of Directors at the company's annual meeting today.
The board members re-elected were David Joos, non-executive chairman of the CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy, Boards of Directors, and the following independent directors: Merribel S. Ayres, Jon E. Barfield, Stephen E. Ewing, Richard M. Gabrys, Philip R. Lochner, Jr., Michael T. Monahan, Kenneth L. Way, and John B. Yasinsky. The new member elected was John Russell, president and chief executive officer of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy. The CMS Energy board members also were elected to the Consumers Energy Board of Directors.
Shareholders also approved a proposal ratifying the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers, L.L.P., as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for 2010. In addition, shareholders voted against adoption of shareholder proposals pertaining to greenhouse gases and coal combustion byproducts.
