CMS Energy Names Mamatha Chamarthi as Chief Information Officer
JACKSON, Mich., April 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- An experienced information technology executive, Mamatha Chamarthi, has been named as chief information officer for CMS Energy, the company announced today.
In the newly created position, Chamarthi will have overall responsibility for the information technology systems for CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy, a Michigan electric and natural gas utility. She will assume her new role on May 17, and report to John Butler, senior vice president of human resources and shared services.
During her 16-year career, Chamarthi has held a series of increasingly responsible positions. Most recently, she was the senior manager of information technology for Daimler Financial Services.
"Mamatha brings in-depth knowledge, experience, and a track record of success to this new position," Butler said. "She's a proven leader and I'm pleased that she'll be guiding this crucial part of our business."
Chamarthi was recognized as a "Technology All Star" by the Women of Color in Technology Institute in 2005. She serves on the board of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology.
She earned a master's degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and also holds a master's degree in computer science and software engineering, and a master's degree in English literature.
