JACKSON, Mich., May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ten incumbents were re-elected to CMS Energy's Board of Directors at the company's annual shareholder meeting today.
The incumbents re-elected are David W. Joos, non-executive chairman of CMS Energy; John G. Russell, president and chief executive officer of CMS Energy; as well as the following independent directors: Merribel S. Ayres, Jon E. Barfield, Stephen E. Ewing, Richard M. Gabrys, Philip R. Lochner, Jr., Michael T. Monahan, Kenneth L. Way, and John B. Yasinsky. The CMS Energy board members also were elected to the Consumers Energy Board of Directors.
Shareholders also approved a proposal ratifying PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for 2011. In addition, shareholders approved an advisory proposal on executive compensation and voted on the frequency with which an advisory vote on executive compensation should be held. Shareholders voted against adoption of a shareholder proposal pertaining to reliance on coal.
