(CMAI) is pleased to announce the addition of four senior executives to its global Business Advisory Practice (BAS) and Planning Advisory Services (PAS). Don Bari, Mike Kratochwill, Andrew Swanson and Ed Glatzer, all formerly with Nexant, joined CMAI on August 31, 2010. They join an experienced team at CMAI's Valhalla, New York office.

The additional consulting experience aligns with CMAI's Business Advisory Group strategy to expand its growing advisory consulting coverage and amplify its existing capabilities. Specifically, CMAI will formalize its expertise on Green Chemicals and operational / process capabilities with the formation of two new practices: Renewables and Technology, to complement its existing portfolio of Commercial, Transaction, Legal and Strategy practices.
Don Bari joins CMAI with 30 years of consulting experience, most recently at Nexant and Chem Systems, where he was the Senior Vice President in the global chemical and energy consulting practice. Don has directed and managed numerous technical, economic, commercial and financial studies in petrochemicals, polymers and renewables and has worked with clients in over 40 countries. He has an MBA in Finance and BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and started his career as a chemical process engineer at John Brown Engineering. Don will assume overall strategic direction of the BAS businesses as Group Vice President.
Mike Kratochwill joins CMAI after a multi-faceted industry career, most recently with Nexant and Chem Systems, where he was Vice President – Finance and Strategy Practice – Americas, and led Nexant's single client consulting focused on financial transaction due diligence, expert witness consulting, technology valuation and strategy. He spent his early career with ARCO Chemical and Atlantic Richfield, as a Senior Project Analyst for petrochemicals and before that as a Process Engineer in the petroleum refining division. After ARCO, Mike subsequently moved to Continental Bank (Chicago), where he served as an internal consultant for project finance in the energy and chemical industries, and as a Vice President managed a number of client relationships. Mike will assume the role as Global Business Director – Technology.
Dr. Andrew Swanson is a well known consulting executive with broad experience in strategy, commercial, and financial assignments as Vice President of Chemicals with Nexant and Chem Systems. He has served clients in many countries in all major regions of the world, with a special focus on the Americas and Asia. Prior to becoming a consultant, he worked for Nalco Chemical (Chicago), and the ICI Group in Australia and the UK in a variety of research, manufacturing. planning and general management jobs. As Global Relationship Manager, Andrew will be responsible for developing and executing advisory engagements across all of CMAI's practices.
Ed Glatzer joins CMAI after more than twenty years at Nexant and Chem Systems, where he was Director of Technology. He is highly experienced in all areas of technical assessment, including technical and economical evaluations, plant operation benchmarking, and business analysis and market evaluation. Ed has almost twenty years prior experience with John Brown Engineering as Process and Project Manager. His areas of responsibility for project work have included technology evaluation and selection, technology due diligence and risk analysis, cost competitiveness, asset valuation, project feasibility studies and Independent Engineer duties through all phases of plant design, construction, start-up, and operational guarantees. Ed has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the City College of New York. Working as Business Director - Commercial Development for CMAI's Planning Advisory Service, Ed will develop and manage new service offerings while assisting with related Business Advisory engagements.
