CMAC 2011 Attracts Civil and Military Leaders in Aviation, Excitement of AVALON 2011 Air Show
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) is staging its fourth Civil/Military Air Traffic Management Summit (CMAC) in Melbourne, Australia, at AVALON 2011, 1 – 3 March. The Summit is the premier forum of its kind, where senior civil and military leaders discuss visions, opportunities, and plans for civil/military collaboration to meet the evolving needs of the worldwide aviation community.
"Australia is the ideal setting for CMAC 2011 because it serves as a leading example of a country embarking on proactive modernization of its air traffic control program and harmonization between civil and military airspace," says Peter F. Dumont, ATCA President & CEO.
Partners
ATCA is sharing the stage at CMAC 2011 with AVALON 2011 – Airservices Australia and Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition, which features 600 aviation exhibitors. CMAC attendees will have complimentary access to the air show and chalets. CMAC 2011 is also supported by Airservices Australia, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), CANSO, ICAO, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Beneficial Location
Airservices Australia manages air traffic operations for approximately 63 million passengers on more than four million domestic and international flights each year. In 2010, Airservices and RAAF signed a Joint Operational Concept which ensures the process is underway to harmonize their civil and military air traffic management systems.
Attendees will benefit from the conference whether they attend CMAC 2011 for a view of successful aviation operations, to learn from a working relationship between civil and military, or to invest in the process of Australian harmonization.
In Attendance
This year, military representatives from more than 30 countries will be in attendance, along with directors of civil aviation and air navigation service organizations. Historically, CMAC has attracted key decision makers from 50 nations. More information can be found at www.atca.org/CMAC.
