The opening of the Paragon Club expands ClubCorp's presence in the world's fastest growing economy and increases the company's overall portfolio to 157 clubs in 25 states, the District of Columbia, Mexico and China.
"The Paragon Club is an exceptional addition to ClubCorp's portfolio," said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp president and CEO. "The club is positioned to become one of China's leading private clubs and will provide extraordinary experiences to the many members of clubs in the ClubCorp family who travel internationally."
The Paragon Club of Hefei, located on floors 27 through 32 atop the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the new business district of Hefei, the capital and largest city of Anhui Province approximately 250 miles west of Shanghai, will serve as a focal point for the current and future leaders of the commercial, financial, cultural and social communities.
In addition to extensive business, dining and social features – a piano bar and lounge, a cigar room, KTV areas and an indoor golf simulator, and more – amenities and luxuries within the 140,000-square-foot, Paragon Club venue include a spa, a Chinese medical clinic, dental clinic, salon, meeting rooms, art gallery, theater for Chinese opera, antique shop, tea house, and luxury suites.
In 2012, ClubCorp expanded membership golf privileges in China by adding Mission Hills China – a world-class conglomerate of hotels and resorts; golf and country clubs; award-winning spas; and sports academies which feature two locations in the cities of Shenzhen, Dongguan and Haikou, Hainana – to its reciprocal access program.
The Belfry in Warwickshire, England, offers three golf courses, including The Brabazon Course, site of the four Ryder Cup matches as well as numerous European Tour events. The Belfry also features the PGA National Golf Academy, offering world-class golf tuition, practice facilities and a custom-fitting experience. The golf courses are part of a 324-room fully integrated and refurbished resort.
"The Belfry, as one of Europe's iconic golf resorts, adds an additional and unique membership value to all ClubCorp clubs," said Mark Burnett, ClubCorp Chief Operating Officer.
