LAS VEGAS, Aug. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CloudPhysics today announced two assessment offerings are available to customers of VMware Cloud™ on AWS. Launched today with initial availability in AWS US West (Oregon) region, VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware's enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software and elastic, bare-metal infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give organizations consistent operating model and application mobility for private and public cloud. CloudPhysics' assessment offerings deliver a detailed overview of how VMware Cloud on AWS will suit end-user customers' workloads.
CloudPhysics is announcing the availability of two assessment offerings. The first, CloudPhysics Self-Assessment, is a self-service offering designed to provide customers with an assessment of the suitability of VMware Cloud on AWS across their data centers - non-invasively - with minimal configuration or time commitment. The second, CloudPhysics Engage Assessment, is a partner-facilitated, 30-day, detailed and customizable assessment. With the Engage Assessment, partners can run multiple migration scenarios to determine the best adoption strategy for customers. Each assessment non-invasively observes customers' on-premises workloads, calculating the resources needed for applications as they run in production, and uses that information to simulate the running of those workloads on VMware Cloud on AWS. "The CloudPhysics' Assessments for VMware Cloud on AWS are an effective way to jumpstart a customer's cloud migration journey. The Assessments provide a simple, low-impact means to accurately envision the post-implementation landscape of VMware Cloud on AWS, without having to migrate anything first," said Richard Sexton, CEO, CloudPhysics. "We hope VMware partners will find that the Engage Assessment tool can help customers assess adoption of this exciting new public cloud offering."
VMware Cloud on AWS technology partners enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and private cloud. VMware simplifies the deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. If a partner solution works on-premises in a VMware vSphere® environment, it will easily support VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware technology partners complement and enhance native VMware Cloud on AWSservice and enable customers to realize new capabilities.
"VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS," said Mark Lohmeyer, vice president, products, Cloud Platforms Business Unit, VMware. "Solutions such as the CloudPhysics Assessments enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We're excited to work with partners such as CloudPhysics to empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value."
