FOSTER CITY, Calif., April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloudian, Inc., the leading provider of hybrid cloud smart data storage solutions, has appointed enterprise storage visionary, Vic Mahadevan, and telecommunications leader, Shiro Tsuda, as advisers to the company. Each will advise Cloudian on forward-looking, strategic initiatives as the company continues to develop new enterprise features, fast-track customer acquisition and accelerate revenue growth.
"I am honored to welcome Mr. Mahadevan and Mr. Tsuda to the executive team and believe their involvement will help take our company to the next level," said Michael Tso, Cloudian co-founder and CEO. "Both are proven leaders who have grown technology business revenues from zero to billions of dollars. Their superb track records and deep strategic insights in enterprise and telecommunications technologies will help Cloudian maximize the enormous market opportunities in front of us."
A leading voice in the server, storage and software industries, Mahadevan is a board member of Violin Memory, Sphere3D, and several other storage startups. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, an MS in engineering and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
"Cloudian is at the right place at the right time to emerge as the true leader in hybrid cloud. The growth opportunity is immediate," said Vic Mahadevan. "As hybrid cloud becomes the de facto standard for enterprise storage, the company's HyperStore products will provide new levels of scalability, flexibility and business value. I am excited to help Cloudian become the dominant player in this market."
A recognized expert in telecommunications technology, Tsuda was one of TIME Magazine's 'Top 20 Global Business Influentials' in 2003. He previously served as CEO at Vodafone Japan and later served as chairman of the board. Prior to that, he was a founding member and senior executive vice president of NTT DOCOMO, Inc., and managing director of NTT DOCOMO, Inc.'s global business division. He led the launch of the world's first 3G service, and the road show for NTT DOCOMO's record-setting IPO. He holds an MS in engineering from Keio University in Japan.
"I am looking forward to offering Cloudian strategic direction to help advance its market leadership position in the telecommunications industry," said Shiro Tsuda. "Secure, reliable, and scalable data storage is the pillar of any telco service for enterprises or consumers.
