PORTLAND, Ore., March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloudability has acquired CloudMGR, an AWS Advanced Technology partner based in Brisbane, Australia and early leader in the cloud automation space. This is Cloudability's fifth acquisition and its first in the Australia/New Zealand region. CloudMGR's founder and CEO, Craig Deveson, will join Cloudability as General Manager, Australia and New Zealand.
ANZ a key region for Cloudability
Cloudability has been working with businesses in Australia since 2012. On the back of continued interest and growth, Cloudability has grown its presence to include Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Cloudability customers such as Atlassian and Tabcorp have led the charge of cloud adoption in the region, and are among the leading cloud-based businesses in the world.
Global cloud spending will reach $122 billion in 2017, according to IDC. Australia and New Zealand in particular have seen a tremendous increase in cloud adoption. AWS, Microsoft and Google have all recently announced significant expansion in the region. Microsoft launched Azure cloud services in Australia in 2014, AWS added a third Sydney Availability Zone last year and Google Compute Platform will be launching their offering soon.
"It's been encouraging to see this region grow over the past few years," said Cloudabilty CEO, Mat Ellis. "Joining forces with CloudMGR allows us to better serve both our existing customer base as well as the ever-growing number of companies adopting the cloud in Australia and New Zealand."
"We are big believers in automation," said Ellis, suggesting that some of CloudMGR's features could re-emerge in future Cloudability releases. "We will incorporate their expertise in this area to improve upon our solutions relating to data-driven automation."
Said Deveson, "I've seen all the growth in this market first hand. I'm excited to be partnering with the leading cloud management solution in the region."
In Cloudability's third year as a Platinum Sponsor of the upcoming AWS Sydney Summit, they will meet with leaders in the industry this April to discuss best practices and strategies for efficiently operating cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale.
