Clinton County, Ohio Board of Elections Selects ClearVote For New Voting System
BOSTON, Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Clear Ballot announced today that the Board of Elections in Clinton County, Ohio has selected ClearVote as its next voting system. The ClearVote suite is the first modern paper-based voting system, built with transparent software and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components. The ClearVote suite lowers the lifetime cost of ownership for jurisdictions and saves taxpayer dollars. Clinton County will begin using the ClearVote system in 2019.
ClearVote's unique vote visualization technology gives election officials a new class of visual tools to strengthen public trust. Election outcome analysis on close races can now be conducted with ease, allowing them to be resolved with full confidence in minutes.
"We chose the ClearVote system because it will greatly improve the flexibility, efficiency and transparency of the elections process in Clinton County," said Clinton County Director of Elections, Shane Breckel. "From ballot creation and tabulation to post-election auditing, this system offers us the increased administrative oversight and tools to better ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of our elections."
The ClearVote system was designed to be the most auditable, efficient and transparent voting system on the market today. Clear Ballot is committed to providing continuous innovation to its customers. The ClearVote benefits include ease-of-use through a modern architecture and flexibility through the use of unmodified commercially available components.
"Voter verifiable paper ballots are the future of transparent elections and will be very easy to manage with the ClearVote system," added Director Breckel. "The precinct tabulator, ClearCast, only needs a fraction of the space compared to our old system allowing for reduced warehouse space. Additionally, with commercial-off-the-shelf hardware, Clear Ballot's system will be able to serve the voters of our county for years to come."
Clear Ballot CEO Jordan Esten reiterated the company's commitment to Ohio stating that, "A transparent future for Ohio elections is a top goal of ours at Clear Ballot. We are honored to partner with Clinton County, a leader in the state, and support their elections moving forward.
