Clint Didier (WA-R) Responds to Grassroots Favorite Ken Buck's Senate Primary Win in Colorado
SEATTLE, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- - Clint Didier (R-WA), U.S. Senate candidate, issued the following statement in response to the results of the Republican primary in Colorado.
Said Clint Didier:
"Congratulations to Ken Buck on his primary win for U.S. Senate seat from Colorado. He's the come-from-behind, grassroots candidate who fought the Party establishment and the D.C. handpicked candidate who outspent him with tons of special interest money.
"Sound like anyone we know here in Washington?
"Voters in Colorado now have a clear choice between a tell-it-like-it-is conservative, and a tax-and-spend liberal who has rubber-stamped every item on President Obama's agenda.
"I want the voters of Washington State to have that same clear choice here in November – and that means a race between Patty Murray and me.
"Even D.C. insiders now have to acknowledge that a grassroots candidate ruled by constitutional principles is what the people on the ground want. Sen. John Cornyn, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, saw the light at the last minute and changed his endorsement from Gale Norton to Ken Buck – on election-eve.
"Hey Sen. Cornyn: You still have 5 days left before our primary. I'll be happy to take your phone call."
Said Jennifer Hulsey, Co-Founder of the American Grassroots Coalition:
"When are the establishment politicians going to figure out that the world shifted this year. Polls cannot gauge the passion, anger and frustration of the American people, and that just throwing big money into a campaign isn't going to win it this year.
"I'm not surprised at this outcome at all. People have been calling for a change for months, and the folks on the ground won't be stopped. I expect more of the same in the coming elections."
Clint Didier, former 3-time Superbowl champ with the Washington Redskins, returned home to Eltopia, Washington to run his family farm with his wife, Kristie, three sons and daughter. He's endorsed by Sarah Palin, Ron Paul and former state GOP chair Ken Eikenberry.
An August 1st Washington State Political Poll shows Didier leading his Republican opponents for a spot against Patty Murray.
