RESTON, Va., July 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options®, LLC (CCO) and inPractice® Resources, LLC (inPractice) today announced the appointment of Joseph T. Abdalla, RPh, as Group President of CCO and inPractice and Marissa Seligman, PharmD, FACEHP, CCMEP, as CCO's Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. As Group President for both CCO and inPractice, Mr. Abdalla will be responsible for overall company performance and driving strategy and commercial development, overseeing expansion of CCO's leading position in the continuing medical education (CME) market, and driving growth and expansion of the specialty-focused inPractice clinical decision-support workflow solution.

During his tenure at United BioSource, Mr. Abdalla led the integration of several of the different operating companies while managing day-to-day operations, sales, marketing, and strategic planning for the multiple units; he also played a critical role in some of the company's M&A activities. Previously, Mr. Abdalla served as Group President at HealthSTAR Communications and in numerous sales and marketing management roles at GlaxoSmithKline.
Dr. Seligman, as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of virology, rheumatology, and other therapeutic areas, will oversee operations, administration, and editorial functions for all of CCO. As a recognized leader in the CME industry, Dr. Seligman will represent CCO with the professional CME associations, govern compliance with accrediting body guidelines, and continue to serve as a speaker at industry forums.
She joins CCO from DBC Pri-Med, LLC, where she served most recently as Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President for Regulatory and Clinical Affairs. She also oversaw accreditations for its pmiCME educational division, including its 2012 accreditation with commendation. Previously, Dr. Seligman held roles in medical and scientific communications at ViroPharma, SCP Communications, and Bayer Corporation.
"As CCO decided to spin off inPractice as a separate operating company providing a unique workflow solution and simultaneously expand CCO into new specialties, we recognized the need for additional experienced, successful, high-energy, senior-level operating and strategic leadership to help take both companies to the next level," said Jeffrey Drezner, MD, PhD, founder and Managing Director of CCO and inPractice. "We are excited to have both Marissa Seligman and Joe Abdalla join the team and are confident in their ability to ensure both companies achieve our growth and expansion goals."
