Cleversafe will present four sessions between the two Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) conferences that provide the latest insights into leading cloud storage developments. At the Storage Developer's Conference, Resch's session, "Authenticating Cloud Storage with Distributed Keys" will discuss a new technique that offers a "best of both worlds" approach to providing a secure method to storing data in the cloud with the ease of use of passwords. Resch will explain how this new method in cloud storage can greatly improve user experience, security and robustness. Resch will present on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at 4:30 pm.
Leggett's session, "Changing Requirements for Distributed File Systems in Cloud Storage" will address a new technique that adapts principals from NOSQL and object storage paradigms for file systems. The session will explore how using information dispersal for both underlying storage and metadata provides a viable solution for streaming write access patterns. Leggett will present his session on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at 2:00 pm.
At the one-day Cloud Burst Summit, CEO Gladwin will look to the future of cloud storage and present on "Really Big Storage: A 10,000 Petabyte Storage Cloud." The conversation will focus on Big Data and the challenges in supporting a very large data set. Gladwin will present his session on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at 1:45 pm.
Finally, Thibodeau will serve on a panel discussion entitled, "The Challenges of Cloud Archive and Preservation." The panel discussion will dive into the work being done by the Cloud Storage Initiative group (CSI) on developing a cloud storage interface standard that will help facilitate data migration between public cloud providers for archival and long term preservation services. The panel will be moderated by Marc Staimer of Dragon Slayer Consulting and includes experts from SpectraLogic, BlueArc (now part of Hitachi Data Systems) and Imerge Consultants. The panel takes place on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at 3:30 pm.
SDC brings together solution-seeking developers, engineers, architects, and product/program managers. Now in its eighth year, this is the "must-participate" event of the year for anyone in the storage industry looking for insight into leading storage developments. It provides managers, directors, and C-level executives the opportunity to meet the industry's leading experts and solution-providing vendors. This year's conference will cover matters such as Solid State Storage, Cloud Storage, File System Performance, Storage Management, XAM/Data Management, File Security, Emerging Technologies, and Green Storage. The Cloud Burst Summit educates and offers insight into the fast-growing cloud storage market segment.
