WASHINGTON, Aug. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ClearPath Action Fund is endorsing Richard Burr for another term representing North Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

He offered legislation extending the deadline for commencing construction of a new turbine at the 4-megawatt W. Kerr Scott Hydropower Project on the Yadkin River in North Carolina that would allow additional production of clean electricity.

He is a supporter of carbon-free nuclear power, which reliably provides a third of North Carolina's electricity. As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Burr will also be instrumental in helping the more than 5,000 solar jobs in North Carolina and other clean energy innovation and investments as part of a broader reforming of the tax code.

He has also successfully pushed language through the Finance panel to give liquefied natural gas equal footing with diesel fuel by taxing LNG on the basis of energy output rather than per gallon.

ClearPath Action Fund will tout Burr as a conservative clean energy leader in a six-figure campaign, which will be run by Anthro and featured on many digital networks, including Facebook, Google, Twitter, SpotX and 4info. The innovative campaign, which will be given a budget of at least $400,000, will leverage a sophisticated microtargeting strategy to identify persuadable clean energy voters. The extent of the campaign will be based on identifying the most cost-efficient means of impacting these voters by determining the cost-per-vote through a test-design methodology.
