WASHINGTON, Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ClearPath Action Fund is endorsing three House Republicans - Bob Dold, Pat Meehan and Mia Love - who showcase the promise the GOP can bring to the clean energy debate.
"Representing the outer reaches of Chicago, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City, these three Republicans are helping to lead the party toward the next-generation of responsible clean energy policies," ClearPath Action Fund Founder and CEO Jay Faison said. "This next Congress can be a pivotal one in helping Republicans become the party of innovation if we reelect leaders such as Bob, Pat and Mia."
Dold sponsored the Mechanical Insulation Installation Incentive Act, an energy-efficiency strategy that would create 25,000 jobs annually, save $35 billion in energy costs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 170 million metric tons. He has backed clean energy innovation by supporting more funding for the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy program.
Meehan has pushed for greater funding for the Department of Energy's science and research and development efforts.
Dold and Meehan have also signed the Gibson Resolution calling for "economically viable" and other responsible actions to address "the consequences of a changing climate."
Love has backed the bipartisan Master Limited Partnerships Parity Act, which extends to clean energy an incentive currently only available to fossil fuels and establishes a more level-playing field for all energy. She has also co-sponsored the bipartisan POWER Act extending incentives to technologies making natural gas generation more energy efficient.
ClearPath Action Fund will tout all three representatives in respective six-figure campaigns, which will be run by Anthro and featured on many digital networks, including Facebook, Google, Twitter, SpotX and 4info. The innovative campaigns will leverage a sophisticated microtargeting strategy to identify persuadable clean energy voters. The extent of the campaign will be based on identifying the most cost-efficient means of impacting these voters by determining the cost-per-vote through a test-design methodology.
