ClearCanvas Releases First Commercial Version of Widely Used PACS; Integrated RIS/PACS to Follow
TORONTO, May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearCanvas Inc., an innovative medical imaging informatics company, today announced the commercial release of their radiology PACS offering, ClearCanvas PACS, Team Edition. Following the April release of their first commercial radiology workstation product, this PACS release signifies the first commercial version of their widely accepted DICOM ImageServer software, previously only offered as an open source application.
With the release of the PACS, Team Edition, small radiology practices now have access to a robust FDA cleared ClearCanvas product suite designed with them in mind. Building on the open source ImageServer, the Team Edition includes a concurrent workstation licensing model, unlimited web-based image viewing, roaming user profiles, JPEG2000 compression support, and centralized audit logs. In addition, the Team Edition workstation includes all of the same features as the Clinical Edition, including Media Writing, DICOM Print, and PET/CT Fusion.
The ClearCanvas PACS, Team Edition is available for purchase through a small but rapidly growing number of resellers worldwide.
"My vision for ClearCanvas has always been to offer integrated workflow solutions to the medical imaging community - and not just image viewing applications," says Norman Young, CEO. "With features like roaming user profiles and web-based access to images, the Team Edition represents the next step in that direction. We are very excited about how the Team Edition will empower small radiology practices all over the world."
ClearCanvas expects a commercial release of their integrated RIS/PACS in early 2012. Additional versions of both the Workstation and the PACS are already planned for 2011; product upgrades and technical support are included free of charge during the first license year. ClearCanvas will continue to release new versions of their open source software as well.
ClearCanvas Inc. develops innovative and easy-to-use medical imaging informatics software, including clinical workstations, PACS, and RIS. ClearCanvas products are used worldwide by more than 15,000 clinicians, researchers, and developers. Their open source applications are freely available and their commercial applications deliver good value at a fair price. To learn more, visit http://www.clearcanvas.ca.
