Priceline Chairman Jeffery Boyd and Former Flowserve CEO Lew Kling Join Board As Company Continues to Expand
NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CLEAR, the nation's leading biometric company that strengthens security and redefines the consumer experience, announced today the appointment of two esteemed business leaders to its Board of Directors.
Jeffery H. Boyd, Chairman of the Board and former Chief Executive Officer of The Priceline Group Inc. and Lew Kling, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Flowserve Corp., have been named directors and will support CLEAR's growth and mission to expand its cutting-edge biometric and analytic technology across multiple markets.
"We are delighted and honored to have the support and confidence of such experienced and proven partners who are passionate about further improving the customer experience," CLEAR's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Caryn Seidman-Becker said. "We're thankful to have their valued insight on how CLEAR can continue to leverage its technology to provide frictionless experiences to any vertical requiring access controls."
CLEAR, which allows its members to use their biometric data to verify identity, recently closed on a $20 million round of financing that accelerated the Company's opportunity to expand across multiple platforms.
"CLEAR has a proven, market-leading technology that has been successfully deployed in some of the nation's busiest airports and baseball stadiums," Mr. Boyd said. "We believe in CLEAR's vision and ability to expand and become a leader in the secure identity field. I look forward to working with CLEAR to further scale the business."
Mr. Boyd was instrumental in building the Priceline Group into a leading global online travel business. He has been Chairman of the Priceline's Board of Directors since January 1, 2013 and has served as a Director since October 2001.
Mr. Kling has more than 35 years of experience leading engineering and manufacturing operations and has served in numerous key management positions for large global businesses. Notably, Mr. Kling served as President, CEO and a Director of Flowserve, a global provider of fluid motion and control products, from September 2005 to October 2009. Afterwards, he served as Executive Vice Chairman until retiring in February 2010.
"We believe in CLEAR's capability to continue to innovate and transform its technology into an easily adaptable and customer-friendly platform that can be used not only in airports and stadiums, but at hospitals, universities and all high-traffic venues," said Mr. Kling. "I welcome the opportunity to work with such an innovative and committed team to expand CLEAR's market-share and attract new investment."
