CleanSpark Among the First to be Accepted to San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Network
Accelerator Program Provides $5 Million Grant, Enhancing CleanSpark's Growth Initiatives
SALT LAKE CITY, April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CleanSpark, Inc. (OTC: CLSK), a microgrid company that is combining a patented "stratified" downdraft gasifier along with advanced engineering, software and controls for innovative distributed energy resource management systems, today announced it was accepted to the San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Network (SDREIN), an accelerator program for entrepreneurs that are developing solutions to help address the region's energy priorities.
Matthew Schultz, Chief Executive Officer of CleanSpark, Inc., commented, "With this new funding, we have the opportunity to expand our work to support the complex energy needs in the region and further refine the performance of our cloud-based energy platform."
Equipped with a $5 million grant from the California Energy Commission, SDREIN is a new accelerator program aimed at serving start-ups that are working on energy-efficiency technology, renewable energy, energy storage and smart metering / smart grid technology and other energy services. CleanSpark was one of 10 companies selected to participate in the program. The company plans to use the funds for pilot programs and partnerships with national laboratories to independently verify performance of its flex Power System™, an integrated microgrid control platform that seamlessly integrates all forms of energy generation with energy storage devices and controls facility loads to provide energy security in real time free of cyber threats.
CleanSpark delivered a seven-minute "TED-style" talk about its technologies on April 12, 2017 at a public event hosted by Cleantech San Diego, a member-based trade organization supporting the cleantech industry in the greater San Diego region, including Imperial County.
About CleanSpark, Inc.
CleanSpark provides advanced energy software and control technology that enables a plug-and-play enterprise solution to modern energy challenges. Our services consist of intelligent solar monitoring solutions, microgrid design and engineering, project development consulting services, system installation and consulting, and turn-key microgrid implementation services. We also combine our microgrid services with its revolutionary and patented stratified downdraft gasifier. The gasifier was developed with partners such as Petersen, Inc., ICON Renewables, Combustion Resources and others to create a logical solution for profitably handling MSW, Coal, Plastics, Municipal Sewage and many other feedstocks. All with ZERO airborne emissions. We've aligned ourselves with research universities such as Utah State University, The University of Utah, and BYU to certify and maximize the efficiencies and production of our technology. By integrating new and existing energy generation and storage assets with advanced load management capacities, CleanSpark's software allows energy generated locally to be shared with other interconnected microgrids. This unique capability enables microgrids to be scaled and widely adopted for commercial, industrial, military, municipal, and remote community deployment.
