CleanSpark Acquires Specialized Energy Solutions
Acquisition enables greater penetration of 100% renewable energy solutions
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CleanSpark, the leading advanced microgrid software and controls company, today announced its acquisition of San Diego-based Specialized Energy Solutions (SES). SES specializes in the engineering and construction of 100% clean energy technologies. In addition to numerous Department of Defense installations, SES recently completed 4MW of ground-mounted distributed solar projects in the City of Colton, with plans for additional projects in California next year.
CleanSpark's flex Power System™ is the industry's leading advanced microgrid software and control platform. CleanSpark's technology brings situational awareness, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, advanced energy storage, and load management together in one comprehensive software-enabled solution. This technology reduces energy costs by 25%, and increases energy security in defense, commercial, municipal, educational, and industrial sectors, while also offering applicability for rural and island electrification needs. CleanSpark offers customers a path to a 100% renewable and cost-controlled energy future.
Previously, microgrid systems were too expensive to build and operate, with few firms offering experience in 100% renewable solutions. This acquisition expands CleanSpark's ability to provide clients true energy security and independence, while increasing CleanSpark's load to 6MW in 2015.
The market for U.S. microgrid infrastructure is projected to grow nearly 300% over the next five years. As microgrid adoption spreads, CleanSpark will help increase energy security and global socio-economic stability, while significantly reducing energy costs and carbon emissions through the integration of clean, affordable, renewable energy.
