Clean Energy Coalition Mid-Atlantic Issues 'Call to Clean Energy'
New Clean Energy Coalition to Launch on Earth Day
BALTIMORE, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In order to promote the transition of America's energy use to sustainable resources, Clean Energy Coalition Mid-Atlantic (CECMA) announces its official launch as a new organization dedicated to advocating for clean energy. Along with the public release of its logo and website (http://www.GetCleanEnergyNow.org), CECMA is calling on organizations and individuals alike to join them in their "Call to Clean Energy."
Founded by Maryland-based Solar Energy World (http://solareworld.com), the Clean Energy Coalition seeks to bring together organizations and individuals for stronger advocacy for Clean Energy. As a first step, the coalition has issued a "Call for Clean Energy." By joining, coalition members pledge to: advocate for stronger clean energy programs and incentives to federal, state and local governments; educate others on the importance of clean energy; and reduce or "green" their own energy consumption at home and at work.
"America is poised to embrace clean energy and lead the rest of the world on a path to a sustainable future," says Tope Lala, Managing Partner of Solar Energy World. "Our goal is to shape the critical discussion the region, and nation, must have about energy. We believe clean energy is the right way forward and are inspired to be a leading force in creating a better tomorrow."
Solar Energy World will formally launch the coalition at a press conference on Earth Day, April 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. at their headquarters at 5681 Main St., Elkridge, Md. 21075.
Currently, the United States only generates approximately 11 percent of its energy from clean energy. The federal government has set a goal of 25 percent by 2025. The Clean Energy Coalition Mid-Atlantic believes that these goals are not only crucial, but feasible.
About Clean Energy Coalition Mid-Atlantic:
An area-wide organization, CECMA seeks to accelerate the transition of America's energy supply to sustainable, clean energy. CECMA believes our current system relies too heavily on non-renewable energy sources. It is not sustainable, exposes our nation to unstable foreign politics, does long-term damage to our environment, and steals vital natural resources from the Earth as well as future generations. By joining with other organizations and individuals across the region, it believes that through advocacy they can change the destructive nature of U.S. energy consumption.
