Clasma Announces Annual B2G Summit: Plugging Smart Buildings Into the Smart Grid

DALLAS, Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Clasma Events announced today the fourth annual B2G (Building-to-Grid) Summit taking place at the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Exposition (AHR Expo) in Las Vegas, NV, on Feb. 1. The B2G Summit is a half-day event that will explore the value proposition, business models, and technologies for connecting the Smart Grid to the building-automation and controls industry.

Commercial and Industrial buildings account for nearly half of all energy consumed in the U.S., making them a logical target for utility demand-side management (DSM) programs. Additionally, most C&I facilities already have building-automation systems (BAS) in place to help manage heating, cooling, and other energy-intensive technologies efficiently and cost-effectively. Connection to the grid is the next logical step.
