REDMOND, Wash., April 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarisonic®, the creator of the #1 most-recommended skin cleansing device by US dermatologists, announces its newest beauty innovation – the Sonic Foundation Brush. The brush is Clarisonic's first micro-blending makeup brush that transforms every Clarisonic cleansing device into a makeup applicator – helping people cleanse and blend their way to flawless-looking skin.
The Sonic Foundation Brush utilizes Clarisonic's patented oscillation technology to generate more than 18,000 micro-blends per minute, gently buffing the skin for an airbrushed, full-coverage look. The blend of bristle sizes – some soft and thin for blending, others firm and thick for precision – spread and evenly apply liquid makeup for the perfect blending, contouring or strobing effect in 60 seconds. Equipped with specially designed nonporous fibers, the brush head absorbs minimal formula to prevent clumping and reduce foundation waste.
In consumer perception studies1, Sonic Foundation Brush was proven to provide better coverage and blending than hands alone. When compared to a makeup sponge, panelists also found that the Sonic Foundation Brush took less time and less product to achieve the same amount of coverage2.
Clarisonic Co-Founder & President, Dr. Robb Akridge notes, "Clarisonic invented sonic cleansing over a decade ago and is constantly dreaming up new ways to help people look great and feel confident about the skin they're in. Our new Sonic Foundation Brush is a great way to transform any Clarisonic device – new or well-loved – into a two-in-one cleansing and makeup blending tool that you won't be able to live without."
Easy to fit into any routine, the Sonic Foundation Brush can be used with a variety of liquid or cream makeup including: foundation, concealer, contour/cream stick, highlighter, color correcting primer and cream blush. The brush head also features easy-to-clean anti-microbial fibers that keep the brush clean and fresh. To use:
STEP 1: GENTLY CLEANSE
Wet face and brush head, apply cleanser and begin your 60 second cleanse – starting on your forehead, nose and chin and finishing with cheeks. Clarisonic works with the skin's natural elasticity to gently cleanse the skin 6X better than hands alone. It beautifully transforms skin's texture, reducing the appearance of pores, creating a smoother, more radiant canvas for your makeup.
STEP 2: APPLY FOUNDATION OR CONTOUR TO SKIN
For a full-coverage foundation look, dab your favorite liquid foundation onto desired areas of the face. Or, to contour, apply a dark shade along the jawline and hollows of the cheeks, and a light shade to the high points of the face, like your cheek bones and bridge of nose.
STEP 3: BLEND
Start your Clarisonic at its lowest speed, adjusting to your preference (higher speed for thicker formulations). Gently glide the device in circular motions starting at your cheeks (20 seconds each), transitioning to your forehead (10 seconds), then nose and chin area (10 seconds). If contouring, start blending lighter colors first, then gradually begin blending into darker shades.
It's recommended to clean the Sonic Foundation Brush with a daily brush cleaner and deep clean with water and brush shampoo as needed. For existing Clarisonic device owners, it's a great time to also explore new cleansing brush heads that best suit the season and personal skin type.
The Sonic Foundation Brush retails for $35 and is available at Clarisonic.com and Ulta.com
