MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CKO Kickboxing, one of the fastest growing health fitness franchises, soon will open its first fitness kickboxing gym in Myrtle Beach. Scheduled to open in early November, the gym is located at 2030 Oakheart Road, Myrtle Beach in the Forest Square Shopping Center in Carolina Forest, off 501.
The family friendly gym offers Myrtle Beach residents an alternative to Pilates, yoga, martial arts and spinning classes. Kickboxing has many health benefits including improving heart function, burning calories, and a total lower and upper body workout.
The 2,400 square-foot gym features 35 heavy bags. It is open seven days a week. CKO Kickboxing Myrtle Beach posts its kickboxing classes online. Hour long classes run from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. so commuters can work out before or after work.
The gym is owned by franchisee Tamarin Vuotto, a former food management executive. Like many other franchisees, she was a member before becoming an owner.
"Like many people, I went to CKO Kickboxing wondering, 'Am I going to like this? Is it going to work? Will it be fun?' I loved it right off the bat," she said.
As her passion for fitness grew, she started working as a trainer and then worked in several management positions.
"I was getting into fitness more and more. I was getting healthier. I was falling more and more in love with CKO Kickboxing and I discovered a passion for fitness that I never knew I had," said Vuotto, who is certified in fitness nutrition coaching.
She chose to open a gym in Myrtle Beach because she has family in the area – and she wanted the challenge of opening a new brand in a rapidly growing area.
"As much as it is a business, I'm not doing it for that reason. I love the CKO Kickboxing workout. I saw what it did for me. You meet other people to help you and guide you.
The new business is also a way of giving back to the community.
"I wanted to help people the way other people helped me. I want to help motivate people the way I've been helped," she said. "It's going full circle."
Her passion for helping people is paying off as presales are going strong for a new market.
About the CKO Kickboxing Workout
Unlike other gyms, CKO Kickboxing features one heavy bag per person and is instructor driven. The family atmosphere and the sense of community also make CKO Kickboxing unique among gyms.
CKO Kickboxing is an effective exercise and weight loss program for men and women, old and young.
"The beauty of our exercise classes is that anybody can do it. Since it focuses more on the fitness aspect rather than the martial arts, it is not intimidating. The instructor controls the tempo, but the client controls the intensity. You can have a fun, effective and safe workout," said Joe Andreula, Founder of CKO Kickboxing.

"CKO Kickboxing is one of the leading fitness franchise opportunities in the country," he said. CKO Kickboxing also was named a Military Friendly Franchise® by G.I. Jobs Magazine.
CKO Kickboxing continues to grow because new franchise owners receive ongoing training on how to run a business and coaching on the latest trends in health and fitness.
"We treat our franchisee owners like they are family, because they are," Andreula said. "That's why so many people, including former military members, want to take advantage of our fitness franchise opportunity."
