CKO Kickboxing Celebrates Four-Year Anniversary in Totowa, NJ
Health Fitness Center Offers Discounts on Membership Plans
TOTOWA, N.J., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CKO Kickboxing, one of the fastest-growing health fitness franchises, celebrates today the fourth anniversary of its cardio kickboxing gym in Totowa, 1 US Route 46 West. The high-quality, cross-training gym provides a family-friendly setting to Passaic County and Bergen County, NJ residents who are looking for an alternative to Pilates, yoga, martial arts and spinning classes.
"To celebrate our anniversary of offering cardio boxing classes in New Jersey, we're rolling our prices back to 2008 when we opened our doors," said Mauricio Barriga. "You can save $200 off annual price of $699 or save $20 off the monthly price of $69. It's a pretty big discount. Prices are good for the entire month of August."
In addition to kickboxing, members can take other classes at no additional charge.
- TRX suspension training
- Classes in abs and butts
- FIT Camp
- Stress and conditioning class with kettle bells, stability balls and medicine balls
Classes are offered 7 days a week, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. CKO Kickboxing posts its kickboxing classes online.
The gym also offers free childcare at all times, except for the 5:30 a.m. classes.
"Surprisingly, most of our clients are women - from all ages - teens to 60s, but mostly 20s and 30s," he said. "They come here because it is a great workout. Most people have never put on boxing gloves before, but everyone is able to do the workout. You go at your own pace. The stronger you get, the more you push. People are able to adapt very quickly and they catch on after a few sessions. After a few weeks, you can do everything, but we vary the workouts so it never gets boring."
Before starting the franchise, he was a member of CKO.
"The workouts are amazing. I wanted to teach people to get the results that I got," he said. "I didn't want to work in the corporate world. I was a computer network engineer for 11 years and I wanted to do something else in my life."
When CKO Totowa first opened its doors in 2008, it was in a smaller, 2,000-square-foot facility. The popularity of CKO's kickboxing and the effectiveness of the workouts has prompted him to move a larger facility more than 5 times the original size just one year later.
"We also have the potential to expand upstairs. We're definitely looking to grow," Barriga said.
"CKO Totowa is the Madison Square Garden of kickboxing gyms with 10,000 square feet of clean, modern workout space and 75 heavy bags, plus a full weight room," said Joe Andreula, Founder of CKO Kickboxing, one of America's fastest-growing franchises according to industry standard Entrepreneur Magazine, which included the kickboxing gym franchise in its Franchise 500 list of best franchises. The magazine also rated CKO Kickboxing as the 48th top new franchise in 2011.
CKO Kickboxing continues to grow because new franchise owners receive ongoing training on how to run a business and the coaching on the latest trends in health and fitness.
"We treat our franchisee owners like they are family, because they are," Andreula said. "They aren't numbers or faceless profit centers. They are people who we want to help succeed. That's why so many people, including former military members, want to take advantage of our fitness franchise opportunity."
"Fitness kickboxing is a fast-growing health trend. People who have tried to lose weight with yoga, Pilates and spin classes are now getting in shape by joining kickboxing gyms," he said. "Kickboxing is the perfect way to cross train," he said.
