Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Awards Pratt & Whitney Design Organization Approval (DOA)
SINGAPORE, Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- MRO ASIA -- The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has awarded Pratt & Whitney Design Organization Approval (DOA) in support of Pratt & Whitney's multi-year Fleet Technical Management Agreement with Singapore Airlines Cargo. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.
Under the DOA, qualified Pratt & Whitney personnel in Singapore are authorized by the CAAS to locally approve repairs, modifications and deviations related to Singapore Airlines Cargo fleet of PW4000-94 engines. This DOA award from the CAAS is the first awarded in Singapore to an aircraft engine OEM.
"DOA approval from the CAAS allows the P&W Fleet Technical Management (FTM) organization to provide support to Singapore Cargo Airlines as a full charge powerplant engineering department responsible for day-to-day on-wing support of the airline fleet," said Jon Beatty, vice president, Airline Customers for Pratt & Whitney.
