City Sports Adds Two to Management Team
Debi Binder and Dana Klein join Boston HQ, mark latest additions to national athletic specialty retailer
BOSTON, Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- City Sports today announced the appointment of Debi Binder to Vice President of Marketing and Dana Klein to Director of E-Commerce, adding strength to the corporate team behind the burgeoning Boston-based retail brand that has achieved substantial growth in 2011.
Binder and Klein are the latest additions to the retailer's growing organization, which opened three new retail stores in the past year in Washington, D.C., Wayne, Pa. and Wellesley, Mass. The brand also updated and relaunched its private label earlier this year with the unveiling of the CS by City Sports apparel line in the spring.
"As seasoned leaders in their respective fields, Debi Binder and Dana Klein help anchor the strength of our existing marketing and merchandising teams as we continue to build off this exciting year of expansion for the company," said City Sports President and CEO Jeff Connor. "I look forward to the contributions both will bring as integral members of the brand-building team at City Sports."
As City Sports' Vice President of Marketing, Binder will lead all brand marketing efforts, including growing its customer base and driving exposure and traffic to the company's 20 retail locations and web site. An industry veteran with over 15 years experience in the media and retail categories, Binder has held senior marketing positions with Comcast Media and Timberland. Binder most recently served as a senior vice president for CCA Global Partners, leading marketing efforts for the retailer with 450 stores in the United States and Canada.
Klein joins City Sports in the newly-created role of Director of E-Commerce, leading all related efforts for the company including setting and executing the direction of citysports.com and managing the brand's e-commerce. Prior to City Sports, Klein managed operations and merchandising at PUMA North America for the brand's shop.puma.com site, overseeing a double-digit growth increase in sales. Klein was the founder and owner of Wild Child, named a "Best of Boston" winner for outstanding children's boutique. She has over 10 years experience as a strategy consultant, most recently with IBM, with a focus on e-strategy and multi-channel financial services.
Binder and Klein will both report directly to Michael Mosca, EVP of Merchandising. "I am delighted to welcome Debi and Dana to the City Sports team," said Mosca. "This is an especially exciting time for our brand as we expand our physical footprint and our customer base and continue to evolve in the specialty athletic space. Their collective skill set and passion for what we do will be critical components of our future success. "
