City Seats® Connects Acclaimed Artists With Vintage NY Yankee Stadium Seats for Auction
This Limited Edition Collection of Yankee Stadium Seats have been Curated by Famed Artists to be Auctioned on Paddle8, February 23- March 8
NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CITY SEATS, is a collective of organizations and individuals that have come together to repurpose the original stadium seats from Yankee Stadium as unique artist-designed works, announces the launch of their limited edition online auction on Paddle8, the leading online auction house. This collaboration gives more than 20 artists and designers the opportunity to transform these iconic Yankee stadium seats into unique works of art, which will be available to bidders worldwide February 23 – March 8. Celebrated artists such as Romero Britto, Alec Monopoly, Peter Tunney, Roy Nachum among others employ a range of mediums, from brilliant Swarovski crystals to playful Legos, to realize their creations. The collection of artist-designed seats was exhibited at 287 Gallery in New York and offered for auction online to a global audience on Paddle8. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of City Seats will go to The Boys & Girls Club.
"Growing up in New York, I've been a Yankees fan my whole life. It was a lot of fun having a chair from the old stadium to work on," said artist Alec Monopoly.

The VIP unveiling event of CITY SEATS took place on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the 287 Gallery, 287 10th Avenue (between 26th & 27th Streets), NYC.
